Well this past week for Sabres hockey wasn't as good as i hoped for.
12/1- Nashville vs. Buffalo
Buffalo was playing well in both the first and second periods killing off penalties and out shooting Nashville in the second period. Both goalies, Ryan Miller and Pekka Rinne played solid, facing 35 shots and not allowing a goal on those 35 shots in the first 40 minutes of the game. The third period started out fine but play by the defensemen started to become sloppy and that is what led to a goal by Nashville which was scored by Jason Arnott. A couple of more minutes went by and then former-Sabre J.P. Dumont scored on another sloppy play by the defense and by Miller. And in the end it was Nashville winning and shuting out the Sabres 2-0.
12/4- Buffalo vs. Florida
The first period was fine for both teams both playing well on both offense and on defense. The second came along and the Panthers just start going mad with a couple of break aways with one resulting in a goal by Keith Ballard. The defense just looked horrible with these breakways, it looked like they weren't evening trying at all. The lone goal for Buffalo was scored by Ales Kotalik and the Panthers ended up winning 2-1.
Well a couple of things need to get changed. One is the play of the defensemen, what the heck are they doing out there? It looks like there not even trying. Another thing is the power play need to start producing out there. If the Sabres keep playing like this I don't think it will be much longer until not only Lindy gets fired but also Darcy as well.
Hey the good news is that they just called up Mike Weber from Portland so hopefully he puts a new feeling onto the locker room that is needed right now.

I'm not really a big hockey fan but every single boy I know loves the Sabres and when I was little me and my family would go with my dad to watch the games because his work has a box at HSBC arena. The only thing I really like about hockey is how there are fights almost every quarter. It's hilarious because they get so mad and the refs look so pissed off. I saw the SUNY Brockport homecoming hockey game and this kid took off his helmet and chucked it at this other kid. I felt kind of bad for him though, it looked like it hurt.
Although I am a Flyers fan, the Sabres are a fun team to watch. They have a great hardcore fan-base even though they have the problem of being a cursed-Buffalo franchise. Ryan Miller is an extraordinary goalie but sometimes it just seems the Sabres can't score. Due to the 8-spot playoffs I can see the Sabres sneaking into the playoffs and possibly getting hot at the right time. HSBC arena has a great home-field advantage, but the Sabres need their swagger back.
Okay I honestly have a question, this is not meant to be rude or make fun of you guys at all. And maybe you can't even explain it, which is understandable.
But at the risk of sounding sexist, why do guys like sports so much? I think they're fun occasionally but I don't understand the fact that some people get like depressed when they're team doesn't win.
Again, I apolgize if I'm offending anyone, I'm just genuinely curious as to why it consumes some people so much.
